Adding New Users, Creating Distribution Groups and Migration Mailbox in Office 365

In the Previous blog we have seen “Managing Your Organization”

Today we’ll see the features in Exchange Admin Center

Expand Admin Tab on the Left side Pane below you’ll find Exchange Tab

Once you click Exchange it will route you to Exchange Admin Center

Exchange Admin Center as shown below, it will be as similar Exchange Server 2013 Admin Center.

Exchange 2013 is the Gateway to Office 365.

So today let us discuss the features like Adding New Users, Adding Distribution Group, basics of Migration in Exchange Online.

First we’ll see Adding User account. Not to worry few user Account has been created.

Switch on to Office365 Admin Center in the middle of the page you’ll find Add user.

Click Add New Users

It will take you to New Window where you can create New User

Fill the details and click Create.

Note: If you would like to assign the permission where user can change the password click check mark. He change the password in OWA on Next login.

Click Create.

Now you have created User Account
If you want to provide Custom Attribute then, highlight the user Mailbox and click Edit.

Once you click Edit New window opened as shown below:

Click “More Options…” under General Tab and click Edit on the Custom Attribute.

Here you assign the custom Attributes as shown below:

Groups:

In the Exchange Admin Center beside Mailboxes you can find Groups

Click on Groups, under Group click “+” button

Click Distribution Group

Based on your Requirement you can change the Owners for the Distribution Group (DL).

Adding Members to the DL

Now on the Staff DL go to Membership Tab. In the Middle of the Page you Add the members.

Click member and click on Add as shown below:

And click ok.

And Click Save.

If you want to Enable Permissions like “Send As & Send on Behalf.

Then you have to click on Group Delegation.

And Click Save.

Resource Tab

Here you can Add Mailboxes like

Room Mailbox
Equipment Mailbox

Migration:

 Note: Features of Migration will be shown here in this blog, Complete Migration will be discussed in upcoming blogs.

 

Now here you can see two options

1: Migrate to Exchange Online
2: Migrate from Exchange Online

So let’s see Migrate to Exchange Online

You can see below options and Supported versions of Exchange.

Click Next. Here you can either Add the User by searching or Import the list of CSV file by browsing.

And Click Next.

Now let’s see the Migrate from Exchange Online.

New Migration Batch start, click on “+” Tab

After Adding the User Mailbox Click Ok

Click Next.

Provide the Domain\User Name & Password.

In middle of the Migration if you want to check the status of Migration, then click Check Status.
