Veeam Endpoint Backup is a free Tool to back up Windows Based Endpoints like:

The Veeam Endpoint Service is Microsoft Windows Service that is responsible for performing Backup and restore Tasks on the endpoint.

It starts automatically and runs Continuously in the background to execute your backups as on scheduled.

System Requirements

Hardware

CPU: x86-64 processor.

Memory: 2 GB RAM.

Disk Space: 150 MB for product installation.

Network: 1 Mbps or faster. High latency and reasonably unstable WAN links are supported.

System firmware: BIOS or UEFI.

Drive encryption: Microsoft Bit Locker (optional)

OS

Both 64-bit and 32-bit (where applicable) versions of the following operating systems are supported*:

Microsoft Windows 7 SP1

Microsoft Windows 8.x

Microsoft Windows 10**

Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

Microsoft Windows Server 2012

Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2

* Server Core installations of Microsoft Windows Server OSs are not supported.

* Microsoft Failover Clusters are not supported.

** Microsoft Windows 10 Education is supported starting from build 10586 and higher.

For Installing MS SQL Database is required which is installed with the product

(Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express LocalDB Edition)

Required Permissions

Ports Used

Ports that basic required if you are installing Veeam Backup & Replication

Catalog Service Port : 9393

Veeam Backup Service Port : 9392

Secure Connection Port : 9401

You can customize port number values that will be used for communication between backup infrastructure components:


Catalog service port. The catalog service port is used by the Veeam Guest Catalog Service to replicate catalog data from backup servers to Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager.

By default, port 9393 is used.


Veeam Backup Service port. The service port is used by Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager to collect data from backup servers, and by the Veeam Backup & Replication console to connect to the backup server.

By default, port 9392 is used.

Secure connections port. The secure connections port is used by the mount server to communicate with the backup server.

By default, port 9401 is used.

Veeam Endpoint Backup Installation

First Mount the ISO as shown below:

For installation .Net 4.5.2 is required Click OK as shown below :

.Net 4.5.2 is being installed and this may few minutes as shown below:

Installing Veeam we have two modes either this can be installed Attended Mode (GUI) or Unattended Mode

Unattended Mode : <Path.exe> /Silent

Attended Mode (GUI) :

Accept the EULA (End User License Agreement)

Click Install

This will install the required components as shown below:

Installing the required Components

 

When you install this Solution there  are three components are deployed on your computer:

 

Components :

Veeam Endpoint Service

Veeam Endpoint System Tray Application

Microsoft SQL Server 2012 LocalDB

 

Veeam Endpoint Service performs the backup and restores the tasks on the endpoint, it is automatic and runs Continuously in the background to execute your backups as on scheduled.

Starting the required Services

Here it will also install the System Tray

Detecting external drives

Now It’s time for Customization

Here you will get two options if it’s registered

1: Insert backup target

2: Customize

As it’s trail pack it’s showing the only option to Insert Backup Target

You can skip this step in order to configure later.

Click Next

 Great Installation completed Successfully.

Ok Now you can “Run Veeam Recovery Media creation Wizard” or Click Finish

If you click the above option  “Run Veeam Recovery Media creation Wizard” then it will first detect for available media.

If you click the above option  “Run Veeam Recovery Media creation Wizard” then it will first detect for available media.

Creating Recovery Media

If you want to include additional Storage and network hardware drivers, click the 3rd option and ADD

Post selecting the location you can click Next

Here you will find the option to enable Wi-Fi support on Appliances on your computer.

Click OK

Now we have to save this ISO image

Set the location according to your requirement and click Next.

Incase if you want to restrict then provide the credentials as shown below:

Review the settings  and Click Create

This will take time to create the recovery media

Great Medias are created

Click Finish.
