Mail Routing from Exchange 2010 to Exchange Server 2016 – Mail flow Migration

In the previous post we have seen Mailbox Migration from Exchange 2010 to 2016.

Now we need to change the SMTP (Simple Network Transfer Protocol) from Old Exchange 2010 to New Server Exchange 2016.

1: Change the SMTP port redirection on your Firewall or your Router.

2: Swapping the IP Address from the Old Server to New Server.

3: In Case if you have any Anti Spam devices or Email Scanners then you need to change the IP Address point to New Exchange 2016 Server.

Changing the Mail flow routing to New Server Exchange 2016 from Exchange 2010.

Login to EAC (Exchange Admin Center).

Click Mail Flow

Click Send Connectors Tab.

Select the Send Connector and Click Edit as shown below:

MailRouting1

Under general I’ve Selected “Verbose” for protocol logging. And changed the Maximum message send size to 100. This can be changed based on your Business requirement.

MailRouting2

Click Scoping

DO NOT Change the Address Space.

Here in my scenario Source Server is Exchange 2010 as shown below:

MailRouting3

Click Add+” and Select the New Server “Exch2016“.

MailRouting4

Click ADD -> Click OK

MailRouting5

Now Select the Old Server “Exch2010” that needs to be REMOVED.

Select the Server and Click “-” to REMOVE ¬†as shown below:

MailRouting6

Click Save.

Great we have seen Routing the Mail flow from Old Server “Exchange 2010” to New Server “Exchange 2016”.
