Installing Exchange 2007 SP3 is pretty easier on Windows Server 2008 r2
So let’s proceed the Installation.
Step1 : Run the Prerequisites.
Open the Window Powershell as “Run as Administrator”.
After you run the above command in Windows Powershell it will show Warning Message and might require Restart for effect changes on the server.
Now Extract the Setup.
Here I’m Installing this through command prompt:
Setup.com /PrepareLegacyExchangePremissions This command is required when you have any Legacy Servers in your Environment.
Preparing Schema : Setup.com /PrepareSchema
Preparing your Active Directory : Setup.com /PrepareAD /OrganizationName:”Techrid”
The Switch /OrganizationName:”Techrid” can be removed if you have an Exchange Server already in your Organization
Or in case if you want to change the organization name then this switch can be used.
Prepare Domain : Setup.com /PrepareDomain
If you have Multi Domain then Switch would be:
Now let’s start the Installation, here we can go with Unattended mode of Installation i.e. using the command line.
Switch for Installation: Setup.com /Mode:Install /Role: C,HB,M
Switch for Installation: Setup.com /Mode:Upgrade /Role:C,HB,M
But here I want to show the Typical Installation using GUI.
License Agreement :
Error Reporting based on your requirement, in my scenario I’m selecting NO.
Installation Type: Typical
Click Setting if you have MAC Clients then Select Yes and Click Next.
Readiness Check Completed
Great Installation is completed.
Restart the Server.
Note: Update the License or Product Key for Exchange Server 2007 sp3 before bringing the server into Production, to avoid downtime.
