Most of the time Administrators come across Issues while Managing & Monitoring Windows Servers
Issues it could be with Drives or Volumes, so to overcome below are few command based steps which will be helpful to Administrators on day to day basis.
Some provide extra features or functions
Some are similar but are accessible from the command line
1: Check Disk (Chkdsk) :
Check Disk is a system tool in DOS. It verifies the file system integrity of a volume and fixes logical file system errors. It is similar to the fsck (file system consistency check) command in Unix.
2: Disk Cleanup
Disk Cleanup by default it is not available in Windows Server 2008 or 2008R2. This needs to installed.
Open Server Manager -> Features -> Add Features -> Select Desktop Enterprise -> Select & Install
After Installing you can see Disk Cleanup under Programs

3: Disk Defragmentation:
Locates and consolidates fragmented files on local volumes to improve system performance.

Diskpart is used to extend a data volume in Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2008 Server and above.
This utility can also be used to Manage disks, partitions and Volumes.
